Goals of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games
BOCOG's general goal is to host high-level Olympic Games and high-level Olympics with distinguishing features, to realize the strategic concepts of "New Beijing, Great Olympics" and to leave a unique legacy for China and world sports.



Concepts of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games
Three concepts have been adopted for the Beijing Olympic Games, namely, the Green Olympics, the High-tech Olympics and the People's Olympics.

¡°One world, One Dream¡±, the slogan of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games was unveiled in Beijing Workers¡¯ Gymnasium on June 26, 2005 by Mr. Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.



Emblem of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
The official emblem of Beijing 2008 entitled "Chinese Seal-Dancing Beijing" cleverly combines the Chinese seal and the art of calligraphy with sporting features, transforming the elements into a human figure running forward and embracing triumph. 




Like the Five Olympic Rings from which they draw their color and inspiration, the Five Friendlies will serve as the Official Mascots of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, carrying a message of friendship and peace--and blessings from China--to children all over the world.
Designed to express the playful qualities of five little children who form an intimate circle of friends, the Five Friendlies also embody the natural characteristics of four of China's most popular animals--the Fish, the Panda, the Tibetan Antelope, the Swallow--and the Olympic Flame.



Venues of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
The stadium will host the opening and closing of the 29th Olympiad, as well as track and field events. On completion it will have a capacity of 100 000 and it is believed that it will be the world¡¯s largest enclosed space.more.
